What are the differences between AquaVim's wood stands and other manufacturers'?

Long before AquaVim began to flourish its name, imitators have been trying to take short cuts and make something similar to our products using cheaper materials. These imitators come and go, many could not survive even one production cycle due to the stringent quality requirements of aquarium production.

For example, they use pressed wood, or called "density fiberboard" or "particleboard", even in the supporting part of a stand, trying to cut costs. Such structure in an office desk or for a small-size aquarium would be generally OK. We believe, however, a manufacturer making such a stand for any aquarium larger than 80 gallons completely disregards the safety concern and consequence it could bring to consumers. Why?

Pressed wood is made by gluing and pressing mainly woody particles and fibers together. With moisture coming from aquarium, pressed wood and particleboards can soon deteriorate. When water gets in touch with particles, they absorb it and expand, and make glue lose its bonding strength. With this and the weight of an aquarium full of water on top, and someone possibly leaning on the tank, anyone with a common sense can guess what could happen.

AquaVim did not, does not, and never will use pressed wood and particleboard anywhere in its Ocean View, Lake View, and Moon View aquarium cabinet stands and canopies, no matter how many times cheaper these materials are.

For those who are price-sensitive, AquaVim offers an economic version: Grand View series aquariums. Even with our Grand View series, we often provide real wood stands (Grand View tank with Lake View stand) for the safer choice of our customers. If we have to use pressed wood (usually for smaller aquariums), we seal boards with wood-like PVC veneer and water-resistant coatings, to make sure any possible water spilt from aquarium would not be directly in contact with wood particles. So, is our economic-market-targeted Grand View aquarium series cheapest in price? The answer is honestly a "No". Could we make it lower than theirs? Yes, but then we would have to use the same kind of materials they use. We chose not to do so because we do not want to sacrifice our name and consumer's safety and face all the problems in the future. Does Grand View offer the best value? We strongly believe so - because no one could possibly use the same materials we do to make the products and beat our prices.

For serious hobbyists, if budget allows, we would still recommend you choose our Ocean View, Lake View, or Moon View aquarium because the cabinet stands for these series are made using real wood, not pressed wood. For a few more dollars, you get a long-lasting set of furniture plus the most important peace of mind.
